Why do many photographers exclude new babies from Christmas Mini shoots?
If you have been looking for a Christmas Shoot for your new baby, you will have realised that many are not suitable if you are wanting pictures of just baby. This is for very good reason. Typical Christmas Minis are designed around children and offer very short sessions, with a fast turnaround between bookings. Reflecting this business model, they are priced much lower than a standard photography session.
This doesn't work with new babies because they have different needs, not forgetting that they have a habit of demanding a feed or filling their nappy when you least expect it!
Put simply, young babies need more time and sets that are age appropriate.
What is different about Little Beans Christmas Mini Shoots?
They are designed around the needs and requirements of young babies. Your session will last a whole hour, it is for baby only, so no siblings or parents. The focus is purely on your baby. Because these are wrapped sessions, I ask that your baby is no older than 12 weeks; this is for two main reason. Firstly, there is an age and size limit to snuggly wrapping babies, and secondly there reaches a point when they are too big for the props!
Can my Older Baby have a Christmas Mini Shoot?
Yes. For older babies and babies who can sit up, I will tailor the session appropriately, styling with festive props; however, please note, I do not use Christmas themed backdrops. If you are looking for scenes of Santa, or Christmas Trees, or cosy rooms centred around a fireplace, I am not your girl! If however, you would like a beautiful gallery, with the option of a mixture of festive and non festive images, then I'd love to be your photographer.
